Pastor Jerrell, is an anointed spirit-filled pastor and preacher of the Gospel. He is a discerner of the Word, charismatic, magnetic, great sense of humor, personable, hospitable, visionary, a leader, teacher, musician, choir master, gospel recording artist and most of all a forever student of God’s Holy Word. Pastor Jerrell is one of the many impressionable Men of God of this millennium, but an individual in his own right.
Pastor Jerrell Reed is a native of Milwaukee, WI and comes from a rich Christian legacy, as the grandson of the late Bishop William Reed, Jr., founder of Jordan M.B. Church aka Jordan Praise Temple Love Center. He is also the beloved first born son of Pastor John L and Mother Brenda Reed; with a family full of pastors, elders and devoted servants of Christ. He is the father of one son, William J. Reed, IV, whose desire is to be a drummer and a pastor one day.
As a young man growing up in New Solid Rock Baptist Church, later renamed Church on the Rock Christian Fellowship under the leadership and tutelage of his father, Jerrell always knew that God had a purpose and plan for his life. His parents always confirmed it by encouraging him and providing opportunities for him to demonstrate it. It is there Reed learned how to be diligent and faithful to the call of ministry. He began working in music ministry at the age of four, serving in his Father’s church for years as the minister of music. From that point, Pastor Reed continued working in music ministry leadership as both local and Jurisdictional minister of music for several churches and eventually moved to Philadelphia, PA and served as the minister or music for Mount Airy Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop J. Louis Felton. Currently, Pastor Jerrell serves as the Midwest Regional Youth Choir Coordinator for the Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Superintendent Edgar “Pety” Madison and founder, Supervisor Valerie Daniels-Carter.
It has been God that has opened every door for Pastor Reed. He has been favored to work with and accompany many great gospel artists such as, VaShawn Mitchell & Friends, Mark Hubbard & United Voices for Christ, Twinkie Clark, Karen Clark Sheard, Richard Smallwood, Bishop Rance Allen, Nikki Ross, Lushun Pace, Ricky Dillard & Bishop Trotter’s Sweet Holy Spirit Choir, Bettye Ransom-Nelson, Ted & Sherri, Juanita Bynum, Chrystal Rucker and many more. Pastor Reed was afforded the opportunity to coordinate the music for the Inauguration ceremony of Governor Tony Evers.
Pastor Jerrell accepted his call to preach the gospel in 2009 and had the awesome privilege of being licensed to preach the gospel in 2014, by Superintendent Victor C. Davis, pastor of Greater Mount Sinai Church of God in Christ. He was later ordained by Bishop Earnest C. Morris, founding pastor of the Mount Airy Church of God in Christ, Philadelphia, PA and Jurisdictional Prelate of the Pennsylvania Koinonia Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ in 2019. From there Pastor Jerrell served as the Executive Pastor for Manna Church of God in Christ, Philadelphia, PA for a period of time under Superintendent H.T. Johnson.
Pastor Jerrell heard the Lord’s call to relocate to Milwaukee, WI and reorganize, rename and rebrand his family church once pastored by his grandfather and father. Pastor Jerrell currently serves as the distinguished Lead Pastor of Jordan Cathedral Church, better known as “The River”, in Milwaukee, WI. Pastor Jerrell has been able cultivate a unique ministry of relevant preaching, teaching, love and service.
Pastor Reed’s unique ministry of encouragement preaching and deliverance has afforded him the opportunity. His approach reflects a spirit of excellence and his passion for the Word of God is exhibited through his preaching and teaching ministry. Pastor Jerrell has been highly favored by God and he is anointed to minister the Word of God and the gifts of the spirit accompany his ministry. Pastor Jerrell is not a Singer and musician that happens to preach but a Preacher called by God who is gifted to sing and play.
